Run this program Super Anti Spy-ware, and if it dos`t remove, then download Malware Bytes anti malware. If both of these programs fail to remove my-security shield virus, then follow this MY Security Shield manual removal guide.

I downloaded & ran SuperAntispyware (Free version) & ran it to remove Windows Recovery virus from my Dell laptop. After quarantining the recommended files I still have no files/folders showning on C drive & my computer will not boot up other than in safe mode. What else do I needed to do?

Marsha, you need to run a program called Unhide, it’s legit and should be easy to find on Google. After downloading it, launch it and it will open a C command prompt box. Don’t close it because it’s running and will take a few minutes after which all the file associations and start menu items will hopefully return back to normal.

I downloaded this and ran it a couple of times but the vista anti-virus 2011 virus is still coming back… I have also tried to manually remove it as previously suggested but it has screwed up my internet explorer function… help!!

you will have to install all these programs in safe mode
all the fake antivirus-viruses are programed to stop the install of true antivirus programs
also look for rkill online it will help stop any programs that are running in the background and give you a list if you want to manualty remove the viruses

I was on my laptop minding my own business when all of a sudden this wondows 7 recovery virus comes out of no where. the background went black, the icons are gone, even the documents disappered. If there is any absolute way in getting rid of this virus please contact me soon. Also even if I were to get rid of this virus is there a possibility that my documents maay not come because i dont know how to do that backup thing.
